STEP BY STEP DINGOO LINUX INSTALLATION VIDEO

Postby z_man3007 on Tue Jul 07, 2009 5:10 pm

Hello to all,

I am in the process of doing a step by step DINGOO LINUX INSTALLATION VIDEO. I will be using UBUNTU LINUX, WINDOWS XP and few other softwares to do this video. Last few days I was working very hard to get the right instructions. I have both White Dingoo and the Black Dingoo, it was very easy to install the Linux on the Black Dingoo, I guess because it had the old DISPLAY firmware (9325). I had to struggle a lot to install Linux on the white one cause it has the new DISPLAY Firmware (9331). As you know our friend Slaneesh is almost finishing up his work on the MAME emulator and it will run only in Linux. So, for that very reason I want all the folks to paly MAME. Also, BOOBOO is working very hard to make sure all the hardware works properly and the frontend. My VIDEOs will purely demonstrate on how to RUN LINUX WITHOUT THE USB CABLE. So, just be patience and check this forum everyday and also check the www.dingoo-digital.com as well. Also keep your eyes on the Dingoo-scene website as well. Thanks

I'm sorry, but what are the advantages to running linux on the dingoo? Will I have to change my PC's OS in order to do that?

Hi,

when you create the 2nd EXT3 partition you can make it whatever you want. For instance, if you have 8 Gig mini-sd and you made your first partition 65 MB FAT32, you should use rest of the space for the second partition. It doesn't have to be only 800 MB or 900 MB or 500 MB just use the rest of the space for the second EXT3 partition. I hope I have answered your questions. Enjoy..... :) :)
