I'm horrible in PS and Gimp ...

Made an icon, not very beautiful, I fear. ;-)
If you use toddlers Linux Distribution, copy it to

local/dmenu/themes/{the theme you are using}/res/games

and add this to your games ini

MenuItem Frontier
{
Icon = "res/games/frontier.png"
Name = " Frontier"
Executable = "./frontier"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/games/frontier"
}

Thanks Mr Logan, works a treat.

The selection of the systems in the starmap is a problem though, can this be sorted easily?

The next version will contain a new 3rd control mode for the Star Map, I have tested it and hyperspacing works fine.

Does it mean you have to press SELECT 3 times now to select a mode?
Sometimes I have to quickly switch between the current two modes when flying. Just to change the camera, set a new target, fire a missle, or change the game speed. It would be even harder to do so if I had to cycle through 3 modes.
But yeah, I know, Dingoo has not enough buttons to map it all perfectly. But I hope we can work out some decent control mappings :)

I hope so too, that's why it's still Alpha. If you can come up with control scheme and bounce it off the readers of this thread then perhaps I can code it. I should tell you there are some limitations.
- I have no way of knowing what screen is currently displayed
- I cannot create new controls, only map existing controls to dingoo keys

There are now 3 modes but i given the limited buttons i can't see how this can be improved.

The starmap does work but there is one point that doesn't work. Within the starmap when looking at the planets, select 6. the system details, you can then choose 10. which gives you a zoomed in view of the planets and space stations. In this section you need to be able to click on a planet or station, this then lets you engage the autopilot. It is in this section that i cannot select a planet or station, i can zoom in and out but not select a target for the autopilot.

I may have missed something though.

I have missed something! You need to press on 10. The little target icon to select a destination.

Thanks Mr Logan

Can you use the powerslide + d-pad controls?
If so, the 3rd mode could be mapped to them.
The 3rd mode has also some other uses like rotating the exterior camera, scrolling through the message board. I think it could be really handy to have it mapped as powerslide + d-pad
If that's not possible.. could we have at least some extra buttons mapped in the 3rd mode? Like changing the camera, or engine on/off.
