*has no idea what scrobbling is*

well if there's an api it should be possible, learn the api, and learn howto program, or find someone willing to do it, could be useful if you're into that kind of thing, but i reckon a full media player setup (audio video flawlessly etc) should be a higher priority

It basically tells last.fm what you have been listening to....this would be reflected on your profile, "radio station" and effect its database of recommendations. Say you listen to tune A and then B, it would make it more very slightly more likely that tune B is recommended on last.fm by someone listening to tune A etc.

But yes to me it seems like a more than slightly superflous feature - especially when it's something that will be done by i-tunes etc rather than the device itself.

Cost benefit ratio...someone would only do this if they were a programmer obsessed by last.fm

If it would be possible to make a log of the emu games you play we can make this for games :)
That would be cool so you get suggestions about witch games you should play.

Hehe, interesting idea. But for that you'd need a site like last.fm, and have some kind of tags for games (like title, developer, etc).

yeah, still if you can link all emulators that are currently available for pc/psp/etc it would be an awesome service.
If you get it working one one or 2 emulators then if your lucky other under developing emu's will prob. implement it.

Now that I think of it - there actually is a similar service called XFire. Perhaps you heard of it? Unfortunately current list of supported games isn't that long, and it's only PC games. :/

Anyway, back to last.fm.
I realise that very few people need it (unless there are more last.fm'ers who are just keeping quiet) but still, if someone's willing to spend a little time to make a simple app to scrobble played tracks - I'll be posting any useful stuff and info that I find:

Last.Fm API info: http://www.last.fm/api/intro
Linux app for scrobbling MTP devices: http://www.lastfm.jp/group/Linux/forum/34522/_/471572
What MTP is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol

upd: Hm. There seems to be a neat app in development that is supposed to scan MTP devices and scrobble any played tracks it finds. Unfortunately it's still private beta and older public versions didn't work for me, so I didn't get a chance to test it. :/
Linkity link link: http://sixones.com/projects/zenses/#

upd2: Since Dingoo isn't using MTP, Zenses won't be able to scrobble any tracks off it. Surprisingly enough, it seems iPod doesn't have MTP either, or so I've heard, but there are still a plenty of apps and plugins that can scrobble tracks off it.
Offtopic: If you have players like Sansa, Zune, Zen, or other - here's the latest beta of Zenses2: http://sixones.com/projects/zenses/beta.html
