New here, can someone explain some stuff to me?

I was just wondering what exactly Dingoo Linux is, and what it'll do for my machine, because I'm kind of confused at the moment.

Well, basically, the current firmware on the Dingoo, is below average (in my opinion, just look at some of the emulators, the hardware can run it, but the software can't). Dingoo Linux is basically just going to replace the old software with new better software, and allow more people to create things for it (unlike the s2dsdk code which is terrible, even at the best of times). Not only that, if there is Linux, that means if we have the source for anything, we can pretty much port it to the dingoo, and it should run without any issues. Hopefully :D

Hopefully that's everything there, if anyone wants to fill in some more details, go ahead!

How long until we can install Dingux to the main HDD? I haven't tried it yet, but when it get's more mature (ie: easier to use, has all the current emu's like GBA, will play movies, and has radio) I would like to just make the switch and call it good. Also, what is the battery life like with Dingux?

I have no idea about the Dingux onto the main HDD. For the battery life, it shouldn't be any different from normal.
