Does anybody juse Linux

Postby schanall on Thu Apr 30, 2009 4:50 pm

Hi,

I just got the Dingoo today. I have Linux as my main system. When I connect the Dingoo with the computer I can't see it as a removable device. Does anybody in this forum got the same problem?

(I have Linux Mint, based on Ubuntu 8.04)

Upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04. At least, according to a post here: http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showtopic=47536 (board is currently down, however). The guy, like you, had 8.10 and after upgrading (actually he installed from scratch) found that it worked automatically. I have Ubuntu 8.10 and am not seeing the Dingoo either.

hi

I use ubuntu 8.1 an everything works fine

you've to mount the dingoo by hand

try this

sudo mkdir /mnt/dingoo
sudo mount -t vfat -o umask=000 /dev/sdb (or whatever device the dingoo is) /mnt/dingoo

bye

Thanks for that. I am on 8.10 and can't be bothered upgrading at the moment.

have you tried hitting the hard reset button and holding B while the dingoo is connected via USB? in windows this disconnects it from usb mode and makes it show up just as a mass storage device. in theory Ubuntu should have no issues detecting it in that mode.
