changing the bootscreen howto

Postby so9 on Fri May 01, 2009 5:30 pm

Hi to all

here's a short tutorial I wrote.
It describes unpacking, changing the bootscreen, repacking and flashing.

Sorry for my bad language. It's not my mother tongue.

Cheers I am sure it will come in handy for those that really want to personalise their Dingoo.

Google Translate or Babelfish soon sorts that.

cba, anyway changing the bootscreen can cause a brick if you dont use the right type of ani converter, it will say firmware update failed= brick hehe i know because i tried and lost all my music, porn, movies, pictures, ebooks.

If you dont convert the pictures to png and to size 320*240 then this also causes problems so unless you know EXACTLY what your doing i suggest anyone wanting to create their own custom theme to have the unbrick tool and all the files at the ready along with a complete backup of the device.

Hi snezzle,

sorry but the imageformat is bitmap 320x240x16bit 565-Encoding no RLE png will definitly brick your unit.
