RDS function in radio application

Postby tihomir on Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:08 pm

Hi all!

Is it possible ti implement RDS function in default or homebrew radio application for Dingoo? Is the lack of RDS in the default application result of software or hardware incompatibility?

RDS stands for Radio Data System, for providing small amounts of digital information. Like the name of the song that's currently playing on a station. I guess the hardware doesn't support it.

The best thing to use RDS for is the name of the radio station. It's making stations searching and sorting a lot easier.

I dont think it will work in software as the tuner hardware needs to be able to pick up the carrier signal.
