[EMULATOR] PC Engine Emulator Found - WIP

Postby Bingo83 on Mon Apr 13, 2009 10:11 pm

Whilst trawling the net for some new Dingoo related stuff I came across THIS, which clearly shows the A320 running a PC Engine Emulator.

After some trial and error I have managed to get it running :)

How to Install and Use

Copy the PCEROMS file to your Dingoo GAME folder
Power up your Dingoo and select 3D Game
Scroll down to the PCEROMS folder and hit A to open
Select Neco760.app and hit A again.
You will now see a grey screen with some graphic, Hit A again
Now some Chinese Text with a Rom name underneath highlight with an *, hit A to run the game.

Its a bit slow but the Overclock app helps that a little, Screen is also too far off to the right.

I can not find any way of modding frameskip settings etc, but it is defo a step in the right direction.

To exit out the app once running press all 4 fire buttons together.

You can add your own PC Engine roms by copying your game rom to the PCEROMS folder and editing the PCEROMS.TXT file to match the rom file name exactly.

Hopefully its being worked on a bit more now that the Dingoo is gaining some attention.

Anyone else gonna try it? If you do please report your findings here.

I just tried it, and while I appreciate the effort, it was basically unplayable. I had the same problems you mentioned, it ran very slow and I could not see a large portion of the screen.

This works quite well, just make sure your Roms have the extension .ngp

Shame that its not full screen. Runs about 70% speed.

Supposedly the guy that ported this also has other apps. I saw it on this thread. Any idea about that.

Yeah most of them have already been posted on the forum. There was a screen test, a black and white version of Soduku, a colour version of Soduku which I posted and a start of a port of a majong game which was defo a WIP. He also mentioned working on some other things but there was no concrete info on anything else.

What I did find was that .APP files for the Gemei 760 seem to work on the Dingoo but if they are converted to .SIM there is problems.

I have been trawling lots of Chinese sites looking for other things but it is a long process as I need to get pages translated to English and also a lot of the files you cant access as you are not a member of the site.

You can be assured if I find anything of interest I will post it here though :)
