Are you sure you decompressed the file? it has a .app extension, if the file you got has a .rar extension then you need to decompress it with WinRAR if you don't know how to decompress files (Oh, for the love of God...) here is a tutorial:

What they posted was correct, .app are programs for the original firmware, not everything posted on here is for linux
